Saba partners unite to strengthen lifelong learning and employability through the National Growth Fund As part of the national LLO Collective supported by the Dutch National Growth Fund, the Saba LLO partnership is building a sustainable system for lifelong learning on the island. The 30-10-2025 LLOC250030 – Raad Onderwijs Arbeidsmarkt Caribisch Nederland 17/19 initiative helps Saba meet the growing need for local skills development and inclusive participation in work and learning. The partnership brings together the Saba Reach Foundation (SRF), the Queen Wilhelmina Library (QWL), the Saba Comprehensive School (SCS), the Saba Business Association (SBA), the Public Entity Saba (PES), and the Council for Education and Labor Market Caribbean Netherlands (ROA CN, penholder). By linking education, government, and employers, the partners ensure that learning becomes a shared community responsibility. With support from the Growth Fund, five key activities are being developed and delivered: – Outreach and Activation – engaging residents through local networks, ambassadors, and community partners to encourage participation and reduce stigma around learning. – Basic Skills Development – improving literacy, numeracy, and digital competences through accessible, bilingual learning opportunities coordinated by the Queen Wilhelmina Library. – Work-Oriented Training – practical, short learning pathways through the Saba Reach Foundation that connect learning directly to local jobs in hospitality, care, and technical services. – Coaching and Professionalization – personalized guidance for learners and training for employers and coaches to strengthen a workplace learning culture. – Policy Alignment and Sustainability – cooperation between government, education, and employers to embed lifelong learning in policy and ensure long-term continuation. Together, these activities build confidence, employability, and self-reliance among residents while supporting local businesses and strengthening Saba’s economy. By investing in people, Saba invests in its future — proving that even the smallest communities can lead in lifelong learning.
